Abstract

To achieve higher success standards, and at the same time to fill the gap between learning in schools and colleges and labor market requirements, we have to search for a mental key to fulfil this goal.  It is essential to help learners to apply what they have learned to workplace. Learning is no more acquiring concepts, knowledge and information, but it becomes  the mindset that allows learners to continually develop their understanding, to grow, and to use new strategies that they have learned along the way, in order to prepare themselves to successfully keep up with workplace requirements. Therefore, the present paper aims at identifying mental agility to activate mental abilities in order to overcome the gap between classrooms and workplace. Mental agility is the ability to know what to do when you do not know what to do. It involves the practice of specific and interrelated sets of behaviors that allow people to learn deeply from their experiences and then apply the lessons they have learned when faced with new and challenging circumstances. This paper also sheds light upon the future skills and abilities that are required by job market till 2030 in the light of recent educational and economic trends.
