Abstract

The world of clothing and textiles has a vital role because it touches many fields and industries. It contributes significantly to local economies, creates millions of jobs, and has significant social impacts. Therefore, the development of this field becomes more urgent year after year. Through an overview of research in the field of clothing and textiles, we can say that the most prominent trends affecting the development of this field are the approach to sustainability and the zero-waste policy, technical textiles and artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, digital printing of textiles, and 3D printing. Amidst all this technological progress, we should never overlook handicraft textiles and their essential role in preserving people's heritage and developing skills by learning, employing, and integrating them with advanced technology methods to produce modern and contemporary products. This article reviews this based on recent trends and scientific research, Arab and foreign, in clothing and textiles.
